Research Process

Our research guides are created using a proven research process and methodology. Our research guides recognize high quality companies, large and small, that have achieved a level of excellence in their customer service and professionalism, marking them as one of The Most Dependable™ companies in their region and industry. All of the companies selected to our research guides:

• Exceed their industry’s standards for professionalism;
• Have an excellent record of ethical business dealings;
• Are among the best service providers in their industries; and
• Have a time-tested track record of success.

Each industry requires different selection criteria. We customize our criteria based on the industry we are evaluating. We typically publish no more than ten companies on a research guide and applicants are evaluated on a rolling basis. Goldline Research’s rigorous proprietary research process includes the following steps:

Step 1: Industry Research and Criteria Formulation

We develop industry-specific evaluation criteria based on input from industry leaders, trade associations and consumers of the industry services. The criteria we develop include both objective and subjective information and are intended to guide us in identifying and selecting high-quality service providers.

Step 2: Identify and Contact Pre-Screened Companies

We have assembled comprehensive databases of leading service providers in the industries that we evaluate leveraging both public and private data. We then conduct individual screening interviews and collect and update company-specific data in order to evaluate and qualify each of the service providers that we have identified.

Step 3: Service Provider Qualification Review

We evaluate each service provider individually. Only those that score highest in our evaluation process graduate to the next step. Our evaluation is based upon the predetermined set of industry-specific criteria that we develop for each industry and leverages the information that we gather in the interviews with the target service providers.

Step 4: Reference Checks

The last step in our research process is to conduct reference checks. Using a proprietary scoring system, we evaluate customer experiences for each service provider that qualifies during our evaluation process. We interview at least two client references for each service provider in order to learn more about a service provider’s track record of professionalism, service levels and performance.

Step 5: Selection and Research Guide Publishing

Outstanding service providers that have scored highest in our evaluation process and that have received outstanding customer references are then chosen for inclusion on our research guides of The Most Dependable™ service providers. Our research guides are published in leading local, regional and national magazines.
